Oren Patterson is a short story author of Fantasy and Speculative fiction, conceiving fantastic worlds in the heart of America’s Midwest. His worlds and adventures have earned him the Writer of the Fortnight award, and nominated for a Quill award for Best Fantasy Short Story of 2012 & 2016, both at Writing Dot Com (WDC). He has won multiple WDC writing contests, including both 8th and 9th rounds of Fantastic Fantasy, 2012 & 2016 Quarterly Magic Words, and the Words of Legend.
His portfolio can be seen at WDC under the handle of Sir Various, where he spends his free time bantering with fellow dragons and adventurers about the life of the scribe. His published work appears in Dark Edifice & 365 tomorrows.
Oren has a Bachelor’s degree in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University.
Oren is married with a daughter, two dogs, a Kindle, and a well-used coffee maker. One of these has complete control over his life and is solely responsible for all actions he takes (hint: it’s not the family, dogs, or Kindle).
